ALTA Applauds Congressional Passage of Landmark Housing Affordability Legislation

Washington, D.C., June 23, 2026 — The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry, issued the following statement after the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, sending the landmark bipartisan, bicameral housing package to President Trump’s desk.

ALTA applauds and congratulates congressional leaders in the House and Senate and the Trump Administration for working together to pass this historic legislation. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act reflects years of bipartisan, bicameral collaboration and is a meaningful step toward addressing the nation’s housing supply and affordability challenges.

“ALTA congratulates Chairman Tim Scott, Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren, Chairman French Hill, Ranking Member Maxine Waters and Congressional leaders for passing this landmark legislation,” said ALTA CEO Chris Morton. “Homeownership is an essential part of the American dream.
